How does reverse cycle air conditioning work?

Reverse cycle air conditioning systems utilize a refrigerated process to remove or add heat to your space and change the air temperature.

This involves refrigerant, a special substance that can easily shift between gas and liquid states.

By undergoing this transformation, the refrigerant allows heat to be removed from indoors pushed outdoors in cooling mode or In heating mode the system absorbs outdoor heat, even when its "cold" outside and moves this heat indoors, effectively changing and controlling the air temperature throughout your space.

Unlike evaporative coolers, humidity does not affect these systems, keeping you perfectly comfortable all year long.

The outdoor unit and indoor unit are connected with refirgeration pipework and air is distributed using ducting or individual indoor units.

For ducted systems the addition of a smart climate control zone controller allows each zone can have its own individual tempertature. Where indivual or multi splits by ther enature have this built in.

What is a Multi Split

A multi-split air conditioning system is a flexible and reliable solution. It connects multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit, reducing exterior clutter.

One external unit powers multiple internal units, usually ranging from one to six indoor units depending on the manufacturer. Even more with VRV/F units.

Versatility Multi-split systems offer significant control over capacity requirments and placement, providing versatility and space-saving options. Each indoor unit operates independently, allowing you to manage settings, temperature, and airflow for each room. Mix and match indoor unit types from splits, floor standing, casettes and ducteds all connected to the same outdoor unit. This allows a tailored solution to suit your needs.

Energy Savings by controlling each unit independently. Minimize energy usage in unoccupied rooms, unlike a ducted system with a single large air handeling, each indoor unit is smaller and perfectly matched for the room.

Multi-split can share the outdoor units capacity with the indoor units. We can add around 50% more indoor unit capacity than the outdoor unit can delivery. If all indoor units are on each has a reduced capacity untill indoors units are turned off, not in use or cycle as desired temperature is reached. This allows us to fine each room.

Often a smaller cheaper to run outdoor can be used while achieving comfort levels similar to a larger unit when not all rooms are in use at once.
